About Used Chrysler Parts

Chrysler's 300 and Pacifica share components with Dodge and Jeep, giving solid used-parts availability. Pentastar V6 engines and automatic transmissions are common, affordable repairs across the lineup.

Common platforms & generations in salvage

Chrysler's modern parts pool is narrow but shared, which helps supply. The rear-drive 300 runs the LX platform (2005–2010) and the facelifted LD platform (2011 onward), and it shares its architecture, engines and transmissions with the Dodge Charger — so 300 mechanical parts often cross-reference to the Charger. From 2011 the 3.6L Pentastar V6 became the base engine with the 5.7L HEMI V8 optional.

The minivan side split in 2016–2017: the Town & Country (through 2016) was replaced by the Pacifica, a clean-sheet platform, so the two share almost nothing despite both being Chrysler minivans. The Pacifica uses the 3.6 Pentastar, and the separate Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in with an Atkinson-cycle 3.6 paired to an electric-drive transaxle and a high-voltage battery — a completely different powertrain from the gas van.

Known Chrysler failure patterns to check
  • 2011–2013 3.6 Pentastar left (driver-side) cylinder heads can wear their valve guides/seats, giving a driver-side tick and misfire codes (e.g. P0302/P0304/P0306) on 2011–2013 300s and Town & Country minivans with the 3.6. Chrysler introduced hardened heads into production in mid-2012 and covered the original left head under warranty-extension campaign X56 — 10 years / 150,000 miles. Favor a post-2013 3.6 or one with a documented updated head, and have a shop confirm the misfiring bank before condemning an engine.
  • Treat any Pacifica Hybrid high-voltage or hybrid-specific electrical fault as a safety item for professional diagnosis, not a used-part swap — the plug-in's transaxle, cooling and electrical parts are unique to the hybrid.

Safety- and emissions-related parts should be diagnosed and installed by a licensed mechanic.

Fitment traps that break interchange
  • 300 rear-drive vs all-wheel-drive: AWD cars add a transfer case, front driveshaft and front axle the RWD car doesn't have, and the two are not interchangeable — confirm drivetrain before ordering.
  • 3.6 Pentastar vs 5.7 HEMI: different engines, mounts and transmissions — a Pentastar setup is not a drop-in for a HEMI car.
  • Pacifica (2017+) vs Town & Country (through 2016) do NOT share body, engine-mount or drivetrain parts despite both being minivans — match the exact nameplate and year.
  • Pacifica gas vs Pacifica Hybrid: the hybrid's transaxle, cooling and electrical parts are unique to the plug-in — never cross a hybrid part to a gas van or vice versa.
Where to find the engine code & VIN

On a 17-digit Chrysler/FCA VIN the 8th character is the engine code, so decoding it with the model year tells you whether a car left the factory as a 3.6 Pentastar or 5.7 HEMI before you buy an engine or a matching transmission — the codes change year to year, so match year plus 8th digit, not the badge. The VIN reads through the lower driver's-side windshield.

Which Chrysler parts need coding after install

Plan for programming on the electronics: as on most modern vehicles, a used PCM/engine controller, body module (TIPM), instrument cluster or keys generally need to be flashed or coded to your VIN, and immobilizer keys must be re-learned, before the car runs right — budget a dealer or auto-locksmith visit. Engines, transmissions and mechanical parts install without coding. Pacifica Hybrid high-voltage modules are dealer-level work.

Why Buy Used Chrysler Parts?

A used part can be a lower-cost alternative to new OEM, especially for an out-of-warranty Chrysler. The value depends on correct fitment, condition, warranty and return terms, shipping, and the final price.

  • Vehicle details — share the VIN or exact Chrysler configuration for fitment review.
  • Terms before purchase — review warranty and return terms in writing.
  • Condition information — ask for available photos, mileage, and inspection details.
  • Shipping options — confirm options for the part size and destination.

Used Chrysler Parts — FAQ

Is my Chrysler 300 or Town & Country affected by the Pentastar head problem?

Only the 2011–2013 3.6 Pentastar left cylinder head is the known issue, giving a driver-side tick and misfire codes. Chrysler switched to hardened heads mid-2012 and covered the original left head under campaign X56 (10 years / 150,000 miles), so a post-2013 3.6 or one with an updated head is the safer used buy — confirm by VIN.

Do Chrysler Pacifica and Town & Country parts interchange?

Generally no. The Pacifica (2017 onward) is a different platform from the Town & Country it replaced (through 2016), so body, drivetrain and most mechanical parts don't cross. And the Pacifica Hybrid's powertrain and electrical parts are unique to the plug-in.

How do I confirm which engine my Chrysler has before ordering?

Read the 8th character of the 17-digit VIN — the FCA engine code — together with the model year, since codes change yearly. That separates a 3.6 Pentastar from a 5.7 HEMI so you order the right engine and a transmission that bolts up.

Do Chrysler Voyager and Pacifica parts interchange?

For 2020 and later, mostly yes. Chrysler created the Voyager by moving the Pacifica's L and LX models onto their own nameplate, and it carries the same 3.6 Pentastar V6 and nine-speed automatic, so mechanical parts generally cross. Equipment and trim differ by model. The Voyager name was also used on far older Chrysler minivans, so give the year.

Why won't 2013 Chrysler 200 parts fit my 2015 Chrysler 200?

Because they are two different cars wearing one name. Chrysler launched an all-new 200 for 2015 on its Compact U.S. Wide platform, with a standard nine-speed automatic, a 2.4 Tigershark four or the 3.6 Pentastar V6, and available all-wheel drive. The 200 sold through 2014 is an earlier design, so order by generation and engine, never by nameplate.

Is a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica the same as the Pacifica minivan?

No - Chrysler used the name twice and the parts do not cross. The 2004-2008 Pacifica was a six-passenger sports tourer, launched with a 3.5-liter SOHC V6 and a four-speed automatic transaxle; for 2007 EPA lists it instead with a 3.8 V6 on the four-speed or a 4.0 V6 on a six-speed, in two-wheel and all-wheel drive. The Pacifica sold from 2017 is a minivan, so always give the model year.

Can a used battery fix my Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid fire recall?

No. NHTSA campaign 22V077 covers Pacifica plug-in hybrids that can catch fire while parked with the ignition off, and the remedy is a dealer software update to the high-voltage battery pack control module plus inspection and, if needed, replacement of the pack at no charge. Check the VIN for open recalls and leave high-voltage work to a technician.
