About This Navigation Module
A used navigation unit is only a bargain if you buy the right kind of part, so settle that first. On some vehicles navigation is a computer of its own - Toyota sells a Navigation Computer Assembly as a separate part, the box that processes map data and feeds route guidance to the display. On others there is no such box: navigation is a feature of the infotainment head unit, and an identical-looking dash may have left the factory with it or without it. That fork decides everything after it. The separate computer is the simpler swap. A head unit usually is not, because factory units are commonly tied to the vehicle they were built into and answer a transplant with an anti-theft message until a dealer codes them to your car. Map data is regional and generation-specific on top. Send the VIN and a photo of your screen.

Before you order, it helps to read:
Common Signs Your Navigation Module May Need Replacing
- The map opens but your car never moves, or jumps across town
- Guidance reroutes constantly or loses the road you are on
- A black or frozen screen while the audio behind it still plays
- An anti-theft message after a unit swap or a battery disconnect
- Slow boots that turn into a restart loop on the navigation screen
- Roads and addresses missing because the map data is years out of date
Symptoms vary by vehicle and driving conditions. Always confirm diagnosis before replacement.
What to Check When Buying a Used Navigation Module
- Decide first: a separate navigation computer, or the whole head unit
- Match nav to nav - a non-nav unit from the same car will not gain it
- Match screen size and connector generation, not just year and model
- Check the map region - another market is a different data set
- Match the audio configuration, base against the optional premium system
- Ask what coding the swap needs and book the dealer before you fit it
Ask for these details and any available photos before approving a purchase.

How Pricing Is Determined
Pricing for used navigation module depends on several factors:
- Vehicle year, make, model, and engine configuration
- Mileage and overall condition of the donor vehicle
- Supplier location and shipping distance
- Warranty coverage offered
What moves a navigation quote is which part you actually need. A standalone navigation computer and a full infotainment head unit are different propositions, and among head units the screen size, the system generation and whether the donor car had factory navigation separate one part number from the next. Optional premium audio splits it again. Budget for the coding a head unit needs. We do not display prices. Request a quote and review the written terms first.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a used navigation unit plug-and-play?
It depends entirely on which part it is. A standalone navigation computer is the closer thing to a straight swap. A factory head unit generally is not: these are commonly tied to the vehicle they were built into, and a used one fitted to another car can boot for seconds and then throw an anti-theft message asking you to visit the workshop. Fitting the matching screen does not clear it - the unit has to be coded to your car by a dealer or qualified specialist.
Will a unit from another country or market work here?
Assume not. Factory map data is sold and built by region - Ford, for example, lists its SYNC 2 map update specifically as a United States and Canada database - so a unit carrying another market's maps is the wrong data set even when the hardware fits. Generation matters as much: that same update is explicitly for SYNC 2 and will not work on SYNC 3 or 4.
My car has no navigation - can I add it with a used unit?
That is a retrofit, not a replacement, and a bigger job than buying a part. Manufacturers treat navigation as equipment the car either has or does not: Ford states outright that its map update will not work on vehicles that do not already have navigation. You need the nav-equipped variant of the module, the GPS antenna and wiring it expects, and the coding to tell the car that equipment now exists. Send the VIN and we will say honestly whether it is worth doing.
Same year and model - why will the unit not fit?
Because these parts change inside a model run. Screen sizes are the clearest example: units built for a small screen can be an older hardware generation, and owners who fit a larger screen to one report it simply drawing the small-screen layout. Firmware is not always compatible across those generations either. Then there is audio - premium systems are optional and configured per model, with different speaker counts and processing. A photo of the dash plus the VIN settles it.
My navigation shows the car in the wrong place - is the unit bad?
Not always. Honda's navigation manual says GPS signals are extremely weak and need an unobstructed view of the sky, with the antenna in the dashboard, and names metallic window tint, phones or audio gear left near the unit, remote starters and hidden tracking systems, trees, tunnels and overpasses as things that interrupt it.
Does a used navigation computer come with map data, and will it be current?
It carries whatever database the donor car had, which is only as fresh as that owner's last update. Honda says new navigation software is usually made available on an annual basis, and that the number of inaccuracies you experience increases the longer you go without an updated map database. A used unit does not refresh your maps.
Will live traffic work once a used navigation unit is fitted?
Treat traffic as a service, not a feature of the box. Honda's navigation settings carry a Current Provider option that sets the traffic provider and a Subscriptions screen listing current traffic subscriptions, and its troubleshooting notes traffic is available only in certain areas. A good used unit can still show nothing until that side is sorted.
The map works but there is no spoken guidance - do I need a new unit?
Check the settings before you spend anything. Honda answers 'How do I turn on the navigation system voice guidance?' with two settings steps: adjust the volume knob while guidance is speaking, and turn up the Navigation On Guidance level under System Volumes. Silence with a working map and route usually points there, not at the computer.
How is compatibility verified?
Provide your VIN or full vehicle details so you can review the fitment basis in your quote before approving a purchase.
What if the part does not fit?
Most suppliers offer limited return or exchange options. Warranty and return terms are confirmed before purchase.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping time varies by location, part size, and freight arrangement. Confirm the dispatch and delivery estimate in your quote.
